Another mystery species, since I can't remember what these are called.

Phoenix Mountains

The view from Phoenix Mountains. This spot is only a couple miles north of our new place, near 24th St. There's a 1.2 mile hike to a summit, but it pretty much goes straight up, and our sandals weren't ready for it.

A Flower

Found this outside our new place. Anyone know what kind of flower it is? The width of the flower is only about an inch and a half.

The 17-mile drive, a private (as in $8.50 worth of privacy) scenic drive through Pebble Beach, near Monterey and Carmel, contains stunning beaches. And, oh, a golf course or two.

Edinburgh Festival

An American high school group performs on the street, advertising their upcoming performance in the Edinburgh Festival, which brings hundreds of music, comedy, dance, and theater performances to the city for a few weeks in August.
